Searching Canvas forgot password usually means the login screen rejected your credentials. The fix depends on whether your school uses a Canvas-local password or campus SSO.
If you see Forgot Password on Canvas
- Open your school’s Canvas URL (not a third-party clone).
- Select Forgot Password.
- Enter the email or username your school registered.
- Use the reset link from the official campus mail domain.
If your school uses SSO / NetID
Many campuses hide Canvas password reset because authentication happens in Okta, Azure AD, Duo, or a NetID portal. Reset the campus password there, then return to Canvas.
Safety tip: Never enter school credentials on unfamiliar “canvas login” pages. Bookmark your real institution URL.
